Sporting Commissions and Committees

The World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) is assisted by World Championship Commissions, WMSC Committees and Commissions (attached to such WMSC Committees). Commissions may be assisted by Working Groups, if necessary.

The World Championship Commissions mirror the FIA Championships, developing proposals for regulations in each series.

The Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the WMSC Committees are approved, every second year, by the WMSC on proposal of the President of the FIA (with the exception of the President of the Manufacturers’ Committee who is appointed for 4 years).

The members of the WMSC Committees are approved, every second year, by the WMSC on proposal of the relevant WMSC Committee President.

The Chairpersons of the Commissions are approved, every second year, by the WMSC on proposal of the President of the FIA. Commission Chairpersons are members by right of the WMSC Committee to which their Commission reports.

The members of the Commissions are appointed by the relevant Chairperson.

The above-mentioned Commissions and Committees are mainly made up of representatives of FIA Members. They generally also include representatives of other FIA stakeholders (manufacturers, etc.).
